The Jersey Wheelmen Are Coming to ScoutFest

ScoutFest ’18 is our largest event ever. And we are excited to have The Jersey Wheelman join us for another great event.

Donate Your Used Bikes at ScoutFest

Do you have some old bikes you don’t use?  Are they cluttering up your garage, backyard or basement?  Then get rid of them! Bring them to ScoutFest ’18

You can donate them to the Bike Exchange, which fixes up old bikes and sells them for a very low price.  All the money raised goes to the Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County. Don’t worry about what condition they’re in.  The Bike Exchange will fix them.  It’s a great way to donate to charity….and clean up your garage.

Sunday Morning Event After Leaving ScoutFest

As you leave, go with your unit or family directly to Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Windsor, NJ.  Tours/personal time to look from 10AM -1PM.  Please plan accordingly with your troop so you will have time to experience the Mandir.  Wear your Class A (dress) uniforms.  This is not mandatory, but you should not miss it!

website:

Less than 5 miles from your Scoutfest campsite is an incredible site of Hindu worship called the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir.   Scouts participating in Scoutfest, along with their leaders and families, are invited to tour this Temple. The largest Hindu Temple in the Western Hemisphere, it is made of handcarved  Italian marble and Turkish stone.  It is a masterpiece of exquisite Indian design and workmanship. Marvel at the intricate marble carvings, witness the Hindu rituals or learn about the world’s oldest living faith – Hinduism.  Opened in 2014, it was constructed in accordance to guidelines outlined in ancient Hindu Scriptures.  This is a chance for Scouts to explore their Duty to God by visiting a place of worship like no other. Tour guides will explain the carvings and answer any questions about the Hindu religion.

Notes:
Scouts, leaders, and family members are asked to please wear clothing covering the knees, back, navel, upper arms, and shoulders.  If body parts are not covered, a wrap will be provided.  Shoes must be removed when touring the inside of the Mandir.  Racks are provided, but you may want a way to tag your shoes. Please note that photography or filming inside the Mandir is strictly prohibited. Postcards and photographs showing the interior of the Mandir and can be purchased from the Souvenir Shop.  There is also a shop for books and Indian sweets.

Directions:
Leave Mercer County Park via the Old Trenton Road Exit.  Make LEFT onto Old Trenton Road.  At the second traffic light, make RIGHT onto Edinburg/Windsor Road/Church St.  In 3.3 miles, make LEFT at the first STOP SIGN onto North Main Street (once speed drops to 25 MPH).  After 1.4 miles, make a LEFT at the STOP SIGN onto Voelbel Road.  The Mandir is ahead on the LEFT.  There is plenty of parking and room for trailers.
